OHA gives $1 million to Kanu ohana

Kauhale Oiwi O Puukapu will be permanent home for Waimea's pioneering culturally driven learning center

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) has awarded a $1 million grant to Waimea's Kanu o ka Aina Learning Ohana to support the construction of Kauhale Oiwi Puukapu, a cultural learning destination for the entire ohana.

All charter schools will be open for instruction on Wednesday, October 18, 2006.

The following charter schools will remain closed on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 due to the October 15th earthquake.

• Waimea Middle School

No students are to attend school. Staff should report as usuall.
