Schwab Learning offers help to parents of students with learning difficulties

This nonprofit organization provides information for familieis whose children struggle with learning and attention problems. Their goal is to help transform, for good, the lives of children who struggle with learning and attendion problems. Their website if full of information and sources of support.

SchwabLearning.org is their main website. It contains information on identifying difficulties, managing your child, home and family, managing school and learning experiences, and connecting with others.

Hawaii Primers on SPED and Public Charter Schools

This set of primers was developed by the HI DOE in collaboration with the Technical Assistance (TA) Customizer Project. These primers are designed to provide resources, training and other technical assistance related to SPED in charter schools in the State of Hawai'i. The goal is to help prevent common potential problems and promote the successful inclusionof students with special needs into charter schools.

Part of a series of primers for charter school operators, this guide to special ed discusses the federal law through the major stages of a charter school's evolution: pre-authorization, preparing for start-up, operation, and accountability and renewal.

Taking into account that the structure of how SPED is administers varies from state to state, the primer uses a Q&A format that helps the reader develop an understanding of the framework of federal special education regulations.
