School Summary: 
Ke Kula ʻO Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu Iki Laboratory Public Charter School is a K-8 program taught through the medium of Hawaiian language for families interested in establishing Hawaiian language as their primary language. The school is part of the P-12 laboratory school program of Ka Haka ʻUla O Keʻelikōlani, the UH-Hilo Hawaiian Language College mandated through ACT 315. Other entities within the laboratory school complex are the 9-12 Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu Hawaiian Language Immersion Program of Hilo High School, the Kahuawaiola teacher education program of Ka Haka ʻUla O Keʻelikōlani, the Pūnana Leo O Hilo preschool and the Hiʻipēpē native speaker infant program of the ʻAha Pūnana Leo, Inc., and the various curriculum development and administrative programs of the ʻAha Pūnana Leo.
